VERNON L. GEDDINGS
HAVELOCK, N.C. - Vernon L. Geddings, 86, of Havelock, passed away on May 11, 2018, at Carolina East Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Annunciation Catholic Church with Father Bill Upah officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Vernon served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea during the Korean Conflict.
Vernon is survived by his wife, Georgean A. Geddings; daughters, Deborah Jolly and husband, Keith, of Newport, Kathy Geddings and fianc , Gary Kautz, of Bloomingdale, New Jersey, and Ruth Ann Mechling and husband, Rusty, of Midland, Michigan; sons, Vernon G. Geddings and wife, Karen, of Havelock, Charles R. Geddings of Havelock and Christopher L. Geddings of Havelock; sister, Ruth Ann Barrineau of Sumter; grandchildren, Faith Jolly, Roseanne Kautz, Melissa A. Thiesse, Danielle Geddings, Amanda Mechling, Wyatt Mechling, Angela Mechling, Jessie Geddings and Jake Geddings; and great-grandchildren, Jarmon A. Fonville, Anna Thiesse and Marceline Florence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucius and Ruth Geddings; seven brothers; and daughter, Georgean R. Ogorzaly.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Munden Funeral Home and Cremations in Havelock.
