William "Buddy" Murray Robinson Sr., age 86, beloved husband of 66 years to Kathleen Poston Robinson, died on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at Palmetto Health Baptist.

Born in Florence County, he was a son of the late William Edward Robinson and Maude Melton Robinson. Mr. Robinson was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a longtime member of American Legion Post 15, where he served as a past post commander and was a member of the baseball committee. He was also a past president and manager of the Sumter County Fair. Mr. Robinson never met a stranger and was an avid hunter, fisherman and reader. He was a longtime member of Riverside Hunt Club and was a member and past president of the Mayesville Scape Ore Hunt Club. Mr. Robinson was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church. He will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Joseph "Joey" Edward Robinson and his wife, Linda, of Sumter, Pamela R. Hyman and her husband, Charles, of Pamplico and William "Billy" Murray Robinson Jr. of Charleston; three granddaughters, Megan Kathleen Hyman, Kelsey Elise Hyman and Caroline Grace Robinson; and a grandson, T.J. McLean.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Flowers.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wes Connor and the Rev. Billy Lewis officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Bullock Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers will be the American Legion Post 15.
