Wilson Hall goes 5-1 in Baron Bash

The Wilson Hall varsity girls volleyball team went 5-1 in the Baron Bash on Saturday at Nash Student Center.

The Lady Barons, who improved to 16-12 on the season, reached the semifinals of the gold bracket where they lost to Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach.

Courtney Clark had 45 kills and seven aces to lead WH and earn all-tournament honors.

Becka Noyes had 27 kills and Chandler Curtis had 76 assists. Liza Lowder had 32 digs and eight aces.

MANNING - Laurence Manning Academy fell to 0-10 with a 3-0 loss to Thomas Sumter Academy on Thursday at Bubba Davis Gymnasium.

The Lady Generals won by the scores of 25-9, 25-6, 25-3.

Perry Lee Love Hicks had seven assists to lead LMA. Madelyn Richburg had three kills, two points and one block. Kayla Acord had two points, two digs and one kill.

On Sept. 26 in Florence, Florence Christian School beat LMA 3-0 by the scores of 25-8, 25-12, 25-4. Acord had three kills, four digs and three points, Trinity Harrington had five kill, Maggie Josey had three blocks and Hicks had 12 assists and two points.

MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

Hillcrest 3

Mayewood 1

DALZELL -- Hillcrest improved to 8-3 as it swept a doubleheader with Chestnut Oaks on Monday at the HMS gymnasium.

The Lady Wildcats won both matches by a 2-0 score. They won the first by the scores of 25-4, 25-17 and the second 25-9, 25-7.

Kristin Reynolds served for 19 points to lead Hillcrest, while Amoni Washington had 14 points, two aces and four kills. Destyni Crim had nine points.

On Saturday, Hillcrest beat Mayewood 3-1 at the MMS gymnasium.

The Lady Wildcats won by the scores of 7-25, 27-25, 25-5, 25-18.

Crim led HMS with 25 points and four aces. Washington had six kills and three digs, Olivia OClair had nine points and Kristin Reynolds had seven points.

VARSITY FOOTBALL

Wardlaw 38

Clarendon Hall 14

ESTILL - Clarendon Hall suffered its third straight loss on Friday with a 38-14 loss to Wardlaw Academy at the WA field.

Zyan Gilmore led the 4-3 Saints with seven receptions for 142 yards. He also intercepted a pitch to a running back and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown.

CH's other score was a 51-yard pass reception by Dylan Way.

Ben Corbett led the defense with 10 tackles.

JUNIOR VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

MANNING - Laurence Manning fell to 1-9 with a 2-0 loss to Thomas Sumter on Thursday at Bubba Davis Gymnasium.

TSA won by the scores of 25-22, 25-11.

Kelsie Austin had eight points, four aces and four assists to lead LMA. Brooke Thompson had seven kills, two points and an ace and Abby Anderson had three assists and one point.

On Sept. 26 in Florence, Florence Christian beat LMA 2-0 by the scores of 25-13, 25-19. Toni Lewis had three points and three aces, while Anderson had 12 points and four aces. Austin had three points.
