City of Sumter is proposing new laws regarding chickens at private properties, including limiting owners to only female chickens and no more than eight of them. Chicken owners like Cara and Christopher Koehler are against the potential changes, saying they use their animals' eggs to feed their family of eight and they think having them teaches their kids important lessons about where their food comes from, among other reasons.
