NOTICE OF ELECTIONS GENERAL

MAYESVILLE MUNICIPAL ELECTION

STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA                                          COUNTY OF SUMTER  

The General Election Municipal for Mayesville Mayor and Two Councilman will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Any person wishing to vote in this election must register no later than Saturday, October 9, 2023. Voter registration by mail forms will be accepted if postmarked by Tuesday, October 9, 2023.

The following Officers shall be included in this election:

Candidate Filing Period:

Filing Opens:  August 1, 2023, 12:00

Filing Closes: August 15, 2023, 12:00

Filing Hours:

Monday thru Friday from 8:30 A.M – 5:00 P.M.

Filing Fee: 

Mayor: 100.00

Town Council 50.00

All checks and Money Orders should be made payable to Mayesville Town Council.

State Ethics Filings:

Candidates are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests and a Campaign Disclosure online with the State Ethics Commission at http://ethics.sc.gov.  Failure to file these documents may result in a candidate fine but will not disqualify a candidate from the election.  Contact the State Ethics Commission for more information.

At 10:00 a.m.  November 9, 2023, the County Board of Voter Registration will hold a hearing to determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in this General election.  This hearing will be held at 10:00 A. M. at 141 N. Main Street Sumter, SC  29150.
