18-year-old charged with murder in death of Bishopville man

Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in the death of 22-year-old Aaron Lewis, whose body was found July 12 in Rembert, according to Adrienne Sarvis, public relations officer for Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

According to a news release from Sarvis, the Bishopville man's body was found with a gunshot wound inside his vehicle parked along Huggins Road, near Pisgah Road in Rembert. The location is near the border of Sumter and Lee counties.

According to Sarvis, 18-year-old Ya’Vaundre Mi’Onte Richardson, of Daylilly Road in Rembert, is charged with murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime for his involvement in the death of Lewis.

Because the investigation is ongoing, additional details are not being released at this time states the release.

More arrests may be made according to Sarvis.
