19-year-old Manning man fatally shot

MANNING – A 19-year-old Manning man was fatally shot shortly after noon Wednesday, according to Manning Police Chief Keith Grice.

“Travon Stinney Stukes died from a gunshot wound,” Grice said. “The shooting occurred on Dickson Street.”

Dickson Street is on the northeastern side of Manning.

Grice said Stukes was transported to McLeod Health Clarendon, where he was pronounced deceased.

Clarendon County Coroner Bucky Mock said an autopsy on Stukes will be performed Saturday at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Mock said more details would be provided following the autopsy results.

Grice said he could not release any additional information on the shooting at this time.

“The shooting is being investigated by the Manning Police Department,” Grice added. “If anyone has any information on the shooting, we’re asking them to give us a call.”
