The execution of a search warrant at a Dalzell Street residence by Sumter County deputies on Jan. 17 has led to the arrest of two local men.

Tedrikk T. Rufus, 29, of Farmington Road in Gable, and Rykardo M. Moody, 28, of Dalzell Street in Dalzell, were charged with drug possession and trafficking, according to Deputy Adrienne Sarvis, public information officer for the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

During the search, deputies seized 14 pounds of THC edibles, 1 pound and 78 grams of plant-material-based marijuana, 82 grams of methamphetamine, 4 grams of crack cocaine and one handgun.

Rufus has been charged with trafficking marijuana, third offense; trafficking methamphetamine, first offense; possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, first offense; and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Moody was charged with trafficking marijuana, first offense; and trafficking methamphetamine, first offense.

"Our New Year's resolution is always the same," Sheriff Anthony Dennis said. "We aim to keep Sumter County safe, and that includes removing as many illegal drugs off the streets as possible."
