Cameron Alexis Ard, 22, of Lake City, was the restrained driver of the vehicle that crossed left of center striking another vehicle head-on, Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker said. He was pronounced dead on scene.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. David Jones, the wreck occurred at about 3 p.m. in the 11000 block of Lynches River Road. Ard was traveling north while another vehicle was traveling south.
The passenger of the other vehicle was transported to an area hospital for injuries, Jones said.
