2 single-vehicle wrecks on Oct. 25 resulted in 2 local fatalities

CLARENDON COUNTY - A Sumter woman and a New Zion man were killed in separate single-vehicle wrecks in Clarendon County on Friday, Oct. 25.

Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell identified the first victim as Tiffany Breanna Edwards, 24, of Sumter.

Edwards was traveling on U.S. 261 less than a mile east of Paxville when her vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a ditch about 4:50 a.m. Oct. 25. She died at the scene.

The second wreck occurred at 7:20 p.m. on Salem Road near Burnt Branch Road, several miles east of New Zion.

Blackwell identified the deceased as Kyle Kirby Green Jr., 25, of New Zion.

According to Cpl. David Jones with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Green was driving a 2003 Dodge Caravan east on Salem Road when his vehicle veered off the road to the right, struck a tree and overturned. Green died at the scene.

Blackwell said that autopsies were held on both victims this past week at the University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Both wrecks are being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
