23-year-old charged with attempted murder after Camden Highway nightclub shooting

A 23-year-old Rembert man accused of attempted murder was arrested on June 27.

Shequan Steven Bradford, of Mayrant Road, also faces a charge of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

Warrants claim Bradford shot the victim from his vehicle outside a nightclub on Camden Highway on June 19. The two men were reportedly involved in a physical altercation after which Bradford left the area. He then returned and reportedly shot the victim.

A warrant was issued on June 20.

He had not posted a $55,000 surety bond as of Friday evening and remains in Sumter County Sheriff's Office Detention Center, according to a public inmate record.

RECEIVING STOLEN GOODS

A 24-year-old man from Sumter has been charged with chop shop and receiving stolen goods at a value of $2,000 or less.

Jerry Michael Washington, of Lewis Road, is accused of attempting to sell a reportedly stolen utility trailer online and having the trailer in his possession on June 25, according to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office. He was arrested on June 26.

The serial number had been removed from the trailer, according to a warrant.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

A Sumter man faces a third-degree domestic violence charge after he reportedly pushed a woman down and hit her in the face with a cellphone.

Chad Everett Hudson, 35, of Christine Drive, reportedly also choked the victim during a verbal argument on June 9, according to a June 24 warrant from the Sumter County Sheriff's Office. He was arrested on June 25.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

A 36-year-old man was arrested on June 20 for supposedly stabbing a woman in the arm with a knife in the presence of a minor the day before, according to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

Jarrod Prince, of North Pike West in Sumter, also reportedly stabbed himself in the abdomen. Both he and the female victim were transported to Prisma Health Tuomey for treatment.

He has been charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
