A single-car wreck on Thursday morning on Interstate 95 resulted in the death of both the driver and passenger, according to Master Trooper David Jones with S.C. Highway Patrol.

According to Jones, a 2007 Honda Accord, driven by Yanes Roach, was southbound on I-95 when the car veered left into the median and struck a tree about 9 a.m. at mile marker 137. The driver and the passenger, 23-year-old Sharif Fordham of St. Matthews, were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle. The front-seat passenger was transported to an area hospital, where he later succumbed to injuries. Next of kin has been notified.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
