Shortly before midnight on Jan. 19, Clarendon County deputies reported finding a male subject who appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle in the Arlen Road area, several miles west of Manning off S.C. 261. Clarendon County Fire Rescue’s EMS arrived and found the man was not breathing and without a pulse.
Clarendon County deputies responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle in the Arlen Road area. On arrival, deputies reported finding a vehicle with its engine running and its headlights on, parked on a private roadway. When deputies approached the vehicle, they found several bullet holes in the driver’s side front door window and a male subject inside the vehicle.
The man was identified as 24-year-old Ny’Jshore Jareek Green. Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell said Green’s body would be transferred to the Medical University of South Carolina for an autopsy.
CCSO investigators along with the SLED Crime Scene Unit were called to process the scene and investigate the case.
This is an ongoing investigation, and anyone who may have information on Green’s death is asked to call  Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office at (803) 435-4414 or the 24-hour tip line at (803) 433-8477.
Callers may remain anonymous.
Green, the shooting victim, was out of jail on bond after a November 2021 charge of homicide by child abuse involving a 3-month-old boy who was under his care at the time of the infant’s death.
According to the Clarendon County Third Judicial Circuit Public Index, Green was arrested in November 2021 and charged with homicide by child abuse. The index lists that the 2021 charges against Green are still “pending.” The index also lists that on Dec. 14, 2021, a Motion for Bond was presented to the court, and on March 3, 2022, less than four months after his arrest, an “Order Setting Bond” was issued. On that day, Green was issued a $60,000 surety bond.
At this time, The Item is attempting to find when Green was bonded out of jail.
According to arrest reports, Green was charged in the alleged shaking death of the 3-month-old boy, whom Green was allegedly taking care of at the time of the infant’s death.
An autopsy on the infant boy revealed the boy died from “a large skull fracture due to blunt force trauma on the ride side of the child’s head.”
Following Green’s arrest, he was booked into the Clarendon County Detention Center, where his initial request for a bond was denied.
