A third suspect is in custody in connection to the killing of Willie McDuffie in July 2022.
Dy-Shirr Misiel Morgan, 27, of Lake City, was arrested the afternoon of Monday, April 21, after a traffic stop during which officers confirmed a warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued on April 9 on a charge of accessory after the fact to murder, according to Mark Bordeaux, public information officer for Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Morgan was booked at Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center and given a surety bond of $15,000, Bordeaux said.
Morgan is the third suspect to be arrested in connection to McDuffie’s death.
On July 19, 2022, McDuffie was discovered by a relative at his place of business along Airport Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene and investigators later determined he had been shot, Bordeaux said.
Priscilla Graves was arrested and charged on July 27, 2022, with murder and criminal conspiracy, and Senque Robinson was charged on Aug. 22, 2022, with criminal conspiracy, according to Bordeaux.
At the time of this release, Graves remains in custody, and Robinson is under house arrest.
An investigation is ongoing.
