COLUMBIA - Alan D. Salisbury, 86, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020.

Alan was a decorated Air Force pilot who flew combat missions in Vietnam and was an instructor pilot at Shaw Air Force Base, where he retired from the service. Alan was awarded the Bronze Star for his service as a pilot during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force, Alan enjoyed working in real estate and insurance businesses.

Alan is survived by his former wife, Nola C. Salisbury; his daughter, Beverly Streed and her husband, Glen Streed; his son, F. Dean Salisbury and his wife, Julee Keith Salisbury; his grandchildren, Harrison Salisbury and his wife, Misty Salisbury, and Alison Trotter and her husband, Tyler Trotter; and his great-grandchildren, Walt Trotter and Melody Trotter.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Merwin and Ethel Farnsworth Salisbury; and each of his four brothers, Evan, Russell, Wayne and Brian Salisbury.

Services will be private.
