ALEXANDER BUTLER

Alexander "Hippie" Butler, 73, husband of Deloris Harvin Butler, was born on April 26, 1946, in Sumter, a son of Nathaniel Butler and the late Margaret Gregg Butler. He departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Butler will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. today for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral service will be held at noon today at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, with the pastor, the Rev. Dr. Sammie D. Simmons, officiating. Interment will follow at Bradford Cemetery, Sumter.

The family will receive friends at the home of his father, 610 E. Liberty St., Sumter, SC 29153.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
