Funeral services for Alice Marshall will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, 803 S. Harvin St., Sumter, with Marion H. Newton, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.

A public viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Alice Marshall, widow of Sam Marshall, was born on March 5, 1933, in Clarendon County, to the late Mackie and Rebecca Brunson Issac.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Maurice and Mance; and six brothers and sisters.

Alice transitioned from this life on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Alice is survived by one sister, Blanche; one brother, Mackie; the nephew whom she raised, General; her children, Joe (Anita) Mack, Josephine, Joeletha (Edwin), Sam Jr., Christopher, Aretha (John), Renee (Morgan) and Donald (Fredreka); 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Joycelyn, Brittany, Elaina, Malik, Jalah, Diamonte, Morgan, Nigeria, Jishawn, Jayde, Zamani, Mekhi, Miles, Kennedy, Evan, Rian and Mirayah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 1B Spring St., Sumter.
