All Sumter School District students can eat breakfast, lunch for free

Posted

Sumter School District is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision for the 2019-20 school year, which provides an alternative to household applications for free and reduced-price meals in local educational agencies and schools with increased levels of low-income students.

All students enrolled in Sumter School District may participate in the breakfast and lunch program at no charge to them. Families do not have to fill out meal applications.

Breakfast and lunch meals follow the United States Department of Agriculture guidelines for healthy school meals.

Parents or guardians that do not want their child/children to participate in CEP may discuss the matter with Sumter School District Food Service Director Leon Williams.

Parents who want to make a formal appeal may make a request either orally or in writing to Leon Williams, Food Service Director, 4255 Peach Orchard Road, PO Box 909, Dalzell, SC 29040.
