ALLEN GENE WILLIAMS JR.
Allen Gene "Junebug" Williams Jr., husband of Theresa Buchanan Williams, was born on Aug. 2, 1968, in Traverse City, Michigan, to William Dinkins and the late Virige Lee Joshua Dinkins of Sumter. He grew up in Chicago and Sumter. Allen departed this life on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Allen leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Theresa Buchanan Williams; his father, William Dinkins of the home; a mother-in-law, Catherine Porter; two sons, Marquitus (Latasha) Williams of Virginia and Marcus Dinkins of Sumter; one daughter, Allyson Janay Williams of Sumter; two stepdaughters, Lanikqua Buchanan of Sumter and Diamond Buchanan of New Jersey; two stepsons, Dico Buchanan and Davon Alvarado, both of New Jersey; eight grandchildren, Autumn, Mekhi and Miracle Williams, Braylan Dinkins, Omari, Laniyah and Malani Lewis, and India Buchanan; two brothers, Lonnie (Terracita) Lowery of Columbia and Terry Davis of Sumter; five sisters-in-law, Diane (Daniel) Bennett, Monique (John) Brandon, Re-nee Buchanan, Yvette (Jonathan) Boone and Latreal Andrews, all of Sumter; five brothers-in-law, Isaiah Buchanan, Darnell (Dawn) Buchanan of Florida, Anthony (Stacy) Buchanan of Rock Hill, Douglas (Francis) Porter and Nathan Rivers of New Jersey; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virige Lee Dinkins; grandmother, Ella Mae Dinkins; and grandfather, Sidney Dinkins Sr.
Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.
Mr. Williams will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday at Revelation Sanctuary Church of God, 3925 U.S. 15, Sumter, SC 29150 with Pastor Terry Dinkins officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home, 12 S. Magnolia St., Sumter, SC 29150.
Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
