Alvia Mae Baker Dority, 100, widow of E.A. Dority, journeyed from this life to her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at National Healthcare Center.
Born in Bishopville, she was a daughter of the late James Addison Baker and Vinie Davis Baker. Mrs. Dority was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She retired from Pioneer Dress Co.
Surviving are one daughter, Mildred Kirby of Sumter; one brother, Lewis Baker of Bishopville; three sisters, Sara Godwin of Bishopville, Nell Keeley of Sumter and Ruby Jean Parker of Bethune; a very special friend, Theresa Glass; four grandchildren, Michael H. Kirby, Sheree K. Infinger (Joey), Connie D. Kirby and Michelle "Tootie" Dority; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Holley and the Rev. Tommy Atkinson officiating.
