Deacon Andrew Moses, 90, was born on Jan. 15, 1929, in Lee County, a son of the late Matthew and Agnes Holmes Moses. His early years were challenging, as he lost his mother at the age of eight. However, he overcame this and the other obstacles to lead a very fulfilling life. During his later years and as his health began to decline, Andrew would often say, "I'm just waiting on the Lord." His wait came to an end on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, as he transitioned from his earthly body into his eternal form at KershawHealth Medical Center at Camden.
As a child and young adult, Andrew was affiliated with Jerusalem Stuckey Baptist Church. He later joined Jamestown Road Church of God and dedicated his life to the Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Adlean; four sons, Andrew L. (Gloria), Douglas, Stephen of Bishopville and Michael (Gloria Brenda) of Wake Forest, North Carolina; three daughters, Earlean Simon of Bishopville, Shirley (Franklin) Stuckey of Camden and Juanita (Steven) Martin of Fountain Inn; 12 grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; and countless relatives, friends and acquaintances are also left to relish his memories.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 68 Moses Road, Bishopville.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday at Lee Central High School Auditorium, 1800 Wisacky Highway, Bishopville, with the Rev. Curtis Murph officiating, eulogist.
The remains will be placed in the auditorium at 11 a.m.
The procession will leave at 11:20 a.m. from the home.
Burial will be at the Jamestown Road Church of God Cemetery.
