Angeline Dargan, 92, transitioned peacefully on Sunday morning, Oct. 25, 2020, at Sumter East Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on June 1, 1928, in Rembert, to the late George and Ellen Drayton Smalls. She was a loving wife to the late Isaac Dargan Sr. and a mother to seven blessed children. She was educated in the public school system of Sumter County. She was first a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Joshua Baptist Church in Dalzell.

Ms. Dargan will always be remembered for her loving kindness and devotion to her family.

She is survived by six children, Janie (James) Goodman, Lewis Dargan, Isaac Dargan Jr., Gloria (Willie) Cooper and James Dargan, all of Sumter, and Dianne (Talmadge) Joel of Columbia; 24 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Dargan Sr.; daughter, Mary Brooks; nine siblings; a daughter-in-law, Emma Louise Dargan; and three grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by all relatives and friends during all home visitation at 2670 Yank Haven Road, Sumter.

Graveside services will be held at noon on Friday at Joshua Baptist Churchyard Cemetery, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Eugene Dennis officiating.

The procession will leave at 11:30 a.m. from the home.
