Arrest made in fatal July 12 hit-and-run collision in Sumter County

An arrest has been in made in a hit-and-run collision on July 12 that resulted in the death of Gregory Jamar Wright, 26, of Victory Drive.
According to Lance Cp. Tyler Tidwell with the Sumter County Highway Patrol, Brian Keith Maynor, 45, of Sumter, has been arrested and charged with hit-and-run resulting in death. He is being held at Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center.
The fatal hit-and-run collision occurred on July 12 in Sumter County. At about 1 a.m., Wright was pronounced dead at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital after being struck by a vehicle while walking across U.S. 378 near U.S. 15, Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker said.
According to the original report from SCHP, the vehicle left the scene traveling east on U.S. 378.
