BARBARA ANN CALHOUN-MCGEE

Barbara Ann Calhoun-McGee, 68, wife of Willie McGee, died on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter.

Born on Oct. 10, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Jessie and Ruby Mayes Calhoun. Barbara was raised in Philadelphia, where she attended the public schools. In 1994, she moved to South Carolina, where she continued her work in the medical field. At the time of her passing, she was employed at McCoy Memorial Nursing Center as a licensed practical nurse.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 45 years, Willie McGee; two sons, Kenneth Calhoun of Pennsylvania and Christopher McGee of Sumter; three granddaughters, Denaysha and Makaila McGee of Sumter and Simirah Calhoun of Pennsylvania; two great-granddaughters, Brynlee and Aubree Turner of Sumter; three brothers, Collies and Michael Calhoun of Pennsylvania and Robert (Cheryl) Calhoun of Sumter; special niece, Aisha Brown of Pennsylvania; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter.

The procession will leave at 12:20 p.m. from the home.
