Barbara Galloway Hudson, 83, widow of Roy B. Hudson Sr., died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, at Lake Marion Nursing Facility. Born July 27, 1941, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Floto Galloway and Doris Rose Kirven. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She, along with her husband, owned Roy’s Supermarket.

Survivors include three children, Pat Buddin (Tony) of Sumter, Roy B. Hudson Jr. (Michele) of Blythewood and Candace Hudson of Sumter; grandchildren, Kyndal Moore (Chris), William Mullen (Avery), Taelor Hudson, Tohri Hudson, Brandon Hudson, Jayden Catoe and Brycen Catoe; four step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Kaytlin Moore, Caleb Moore, Chandler Moore, Collin Mullen and Hudson Mullen; eight step-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Floto Galloway II and Robert Galloway (Sharon).

She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Wilkie, and brother-in-law, Joe T. Wilkie Sr.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Moore officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Hudson, Jaylen Gayle, Jayden Catoe, Brycen Catoe, Caleb Moore and Chandler Moore.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
