BARBARA KAYE SMITH

GOOSE CREEK - Barbara Kaye Smith, 68, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, at the home of her sister in Sumter, surrounded by family and friends.

Born on March 16, 1950, in Augusta, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Eual Perry Hall and Johnnie Mae Buck Morris. Ms. Smith was a faithful member of Carnes Crossroads Church of God in Summerville. She worked as a beautician for 22 years and was an associate at Catherine's for 20 years. She was a loving, caring person and always wore a smile.

Survivors include a son, William Travis Smith of Charleston; four siblings, Robert Hall of Manning, Richard Hall (Lisa) of Bacliff, Texas, and Renee Garcia (Arthur) and James Morris (Sandra), both of Sumter; a number of beloved nieces and nephews; and two dear friends, Pat Clevenger and Ronnie Mixon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, James M. Morris.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at Westover Memorial Park in Augusta.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her sister in Sumter.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
