BARBARA VIRGINIA ARDIS POST COKER

Barbara Virginia Ardis Post Coker, 82, widow of Franklin Clyde Coker, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at her home.

Born July 20, 1940, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Larry L. Ardis Sr. and Bertie V. Ardis. She was first married to the late Charles Paul Post Jr., and they were parents of Anne Alissa Post Best of Chapin and John Paul Post of Gaston.

Mrs. Coker was a 1958 graduate of University High School in Columbia and attended Columbia Bible College, now Columbia International University, and the University of South Carolina, where she majored in elementary education. She attended Swan Lake Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her daughter and son, Mrs. Coker is survived by her daughter-in-law, Dr. Alison Post; five grandchildren, Kayla Best (Samuel Henegar), Shiloh Boulden (Malik), Jonathan Post, Christian Hall and Connor Best; and two great-grandchildren, Lincoln Colt Henegar and Oliver Quinn Boulden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Laura Ruth Rollinson, and her beloved husband, SGM F. Clyde Coker, who was a veteran of World War II and retired from the S.C. Office of the Adjutant General.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. Chuck Staggs. Burial, beside her husband, will be in the Sumter Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
