Bates whips R.E. Davis 30-6 to remain undefeated

The Bates Middle School football team remained undefeated with a 30-6 victory over R.E. Davis on Tuesday at the BMS field.

Antoine Bracey returned an interception for a touchdown and ran for another score for the Bantams, who are 4-0 on the season. Bracey also had five tackles.

Josiah Burson tossed an 80-yard touchdown pass to Caleb Jenkins. Demari Spann and Bryson Cuffie each scored a touchdown, while Dazuan Jackson and Ellison Cooper both ran for a 2-point conversion.

W'Adar Williams had five tackles on defense, while Gerald Williams had two tackles and a quarterback sack.

Manning 30

Alice Drive 6

Jabari Harrison scored four touchdowns to lead Manning Junior High School to a 30-6 victory over Alice Drive on Tuesday at the ADMS field.

The Monarchs improved to 3-1, while the Hawks dropped to 3-1.

Alice Drive's only points came on a touchdown reception by Jamie Tedder Jr.

Thomas Sumter 3

Calhoun 0

DALZELL - Thomas Sumter Academy defeated Calhoun Academy 3-0 on Tuesday at Edens Gymnasium.

The Lady Generals won by the scores of 25-13, 25-21, 26-24.

Karliegh Young led TSA with eight kills, while Logan Scruggs had 10 assists. Lindsay Daniel had three kills and three aces, Maci Willetts had three kills and one ace, and Mercedes Byrd had four aces.

Christian Academy 0

BISHOPVILLE - Robert E. Lee Academy improved to 4-3 in SCISA Region IV-2A with a 3-0 victory over Christian Academy on Tuesday at the REL gymnasium.

The Lady Cavaliers, who are 8-5 overall, won by the scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-11.

Charley Grace Norris led Robert E. Lee with 21 digs, while Sara Abbett Kirven had 19 assists. . Marta Jane Logan had seven aces, seven digs and five kills, Caleigh Barrett had six kills and two blocks, Lacie McElveen had 11 digs and two blocks, and Madi Motley had four blocks and two kills.

Heathwood Hall 0

Wilson Hall improved to 14-5 overall with a 3-0 victory over Heathwood Hall on Tuesday at Nash Student Center.

The Lady Barons won by the scores of 25-17, 25-22, 22-25, 25-10.

Lucy Matthews had 13 kills and 14 digs to lead WH. Abbie Beatson had 19 digs and Camryn Bateman had 17 assists and seven aces.

VARSITY GIRLS TENNIS

IRMO - Sumter High School improved to 2-2 in Region IV-5A with a 4-3 victory over Irmo on Tuesday at the HIS courts.

Winning for Sumter were Whitney Crawford, Ella Allen and Camerson Jackson in singles, and Crawford and Allen in doubles.

2 - Ella Allen (S) defeated Olivia Jackson 6-0, 6-0.

Sumter finishes third

CAMDEN - Sumter High School finished third in a 3-team match at Camden Country Club on Tuesday.

Camden won with a score of 187. McBee shot a 213 and the Lady Gamecocks had a 227.

Audrey Shuping shot a 48 to lead Sumter. Danae Brunson had a 56, Ashlynn Ray a 58 and Patience Williams a 62.

Camden's Ava Neal was the medalist with a 42.
