Bertha Mae Ellison, 67, accepted the call to God and departed this life at 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1952, in Pinewood, to the late Samuel Ulysses Johnson Jr. and Lillie Bell Williams Johnson.
The family will receive friends at the church an hour before the service.
Funeral service will be held at noon on Friday at New Hope UME Church, Pinewood, with Pastor Myers and Bishop Leroy T. James, eulogist. Interment will follow at New Hope Community Cemetery, Pinewood.
Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
