REMBERT - Betty Frances Ray Jones, age 88, beloved wife of Leroy Jones, died on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020, at her residence.

Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie and Emma Baker Ray. Mrs. Jones loved to cook and garden with her husband. Together they put up countless vegetables each year. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and to Alabama. Mrs. Jones was strong in her faith and was a member of DeKalb Baptist Church in Camden. She was a super mother and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Surviving in addition to her husband Leroy are five children, Tommy Gardner and his wife, Elaine, of Rembert, Lorraine Wolf and her husband, Gary, of Dalzell, Daine Jackson of Horatio, Debbie McGeehan of Rembert and Anissa Thompson and her husband, Phil, of Dalzell; one sister, Lib Hiott of DeKalb; six grandchildren, Tiffany, Rachael, Brad, Daniel, Amber and Kayla; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of special cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Chris; one sister, Sarah Ray; and one brother, Lonnie Ray Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at DeKalb Baptist Church. Interment will follow at DeKalb Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Robinson, Jefferey Robinson, Daniel Benenhaley, Brad Lemon, James Stanley and Jimmy Ray.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Prisma Health Tuomey Hospice and to her nurse Heather for all their loving care and compassion.
