Betty Galloway Ardis, 89, widow of M. Wilbur Ardis, passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, at McLeod Health Clarendon.

Born April 7, 1936, in Wedgefield, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Willene Jackson Galloway. She was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Ardis (Cindy) and Stan Ardis (Marijon); grandchildren, Kevin, Courtney, Kaitlin, Bryson and Hayden; great-grandchildren, Freya and Brynley; a brother, Carl Galloway (Pat); and a sister, Deborah Murray (Mike).

She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles T. Galloway; a sister, Dorothy “Dot” Gardenhire; and a niece, Cindy Broome.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at Crosswell Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Owens and the Rev. Rodney Howard officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bryson Ardis, Hayden Ardis, Ryan Broome, John Gardenhire, Steve Galloway and Michael Mitchum.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Faithful Followers Sunday School class.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at Crosswell Baptist Church and other times at the home of Mike and Cindy Ardis, 42 Calhoun Drive.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Pocotaligo Health and Rehabilitation Center for all of their loving care and compassion.
