Betty Sanders-Foster, 82, of Washington, D.C., was born on June 19, 1937, in Sumter County to the late Joseph and Maggie Floyd Sanders. She answered the Master's call early Sunday morning, June 14, 2020.

Betty accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized and became a member of the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. Upon relocating to Washington, D.C., she joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Betty was educated in the public schools of Sumter County.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories: two children, Michael (Yvonne) Sanders of Sumter and Bettina Sanders (Victor) Ford of Forestville, Maryland; four sisters, Helen Coakley of Rochester, New York, Evelyn (Moses) Haynesworth and Gladys (Willie) Grant, all of Sumter, and Myrtle Dinkins of Rembert; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two aunts, Mary K. Sanders and Sallie Tarver; two special cousins, Francis Mitchell and James Rembert; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Heritage Memorial in Waldorf, Maryland, with the Rev. Freddie Davis officiating. These services are entrusted to Taylor's Funeral Home, 1722 N. Capitol St., NW, Washington, DC 20002. The services will be live-streamed on Taylor's Funeral Home Facebook page.
