BETTY W. GEDDINGS

Betty W. Geddings, 84, widow of Everette Geddings, died on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, at her home.

Born on Oct. 22, 1935, in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Isaac Aiken Williams and Bertie Bell Davis Williams. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She retired from Checker Transfer and Storage and Sole Response Ambulance Service.

Survivors include two sons, E. Ray Geddings (Cindy) of Alcolu and Bryan L. Geddings of Portsmouth, Virginia; three daughters, Sandra G. Purvis, Gail West (Tommy) and Kathy G. Brewer (Stanley), all of Sumter; grandchildren, Erica Charles (Jamie), Andy Geddings, Shawn Depuy (Matthew), Heather Baker (Jim), Kimberly West, Samantha Thomas (Jeremy), Ryan Brewer (Heather), Erin Lynch (Kyle) and Reed Brewer (Heather); great-grandchildren, Jordan, Leah and Brinley Baker, Peyton and Brice Charles, Cole and Colton Geddings, Delilah and Lolah Depuy, Gabriel, Magdalene and Simon Thomas, Caroline Lynch, Logan Brewer and Grace and Lauren Geddings; and a brother, Rudolph Williams of Sumter.

She was preceded in death by two children, Susan A. Geddings and Gary E. Geddings; a brother, Aiken Williams; and two sisters, Louise Avins and Jessie M. Hawkins

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Fraser officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church and other times at the home of Kathy and Stanley Brewer.
