BILLY LEON DAVIS SR.

Billy Leon Davis Sr., 89, husband of Virginia “Ginnie” Bartlette Davis, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, at his home.
Born Nov. 11, 1934, in Sumter, he was a son of the late J. Lynwood Davis and the late Frances Jones Davis.  He was a member of Graham Baptist Church and was a retired farmer.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 63 years include a son, Billy L. Davis Jr. (Ann); an honorary grandson, Nathan Downer (Carley); great-granddaughter; Shirley Holland Downer; and a sister, Lynda Burress (Robert).
He was preceded in death by a brother, James M. Davis.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at Graham Baptist Church with the Rev. John Patrick officiating.  Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Downer, Tommy Lee, David Fleming, C.W. Brunson, W.T. Brogdon and Chad Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Davis, Jeff Davis, David Felder and Leon Tobias.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
