BLEASE WELDON III

Posted

Blease Weldon III, 61, was born on Dec. 29, 1958, in Clarendon County, a son of the late Blease Weldon Jr. and Sarah Lemon Weldon.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and his youngest brother, Alvin Londell Weldon.

"Pee Wee," as he was affectionately called, was educated in the public schools of Clarendon County. He was employed by Pilgrim's Pride for 10 years and then he transitioned to Hawthorne Construction, where he worked until his health failed. He accepted Christ as his Savior early in life and worked daily to provide for the needs of his family.

On Monday, May 4, 2020, the all-wise God touched Blease and called him home.

Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Debra Weldon; a daughter, Jessica Weldon of Sumter; three sons, Matthew, Victor and Marcus Weldon, all of Sumter; a grandchild, Milo Weldon of Sumter; five sisters, Lawral Richburg, Floree (Dwight) Joe and Brenda Humes, all of Manning, Carrie Weldon and Jackie Glover, both of Sumter; and two brothers, Robert (Jennifer) Weldon of Sumter and Riley Humes of Columbia. He and his uncle, Eddie Montgomery Weldon, shared a special brotherly bond. He also leaves to cherish: a special friend, Emma Fulton of Sumter, a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

As a child, Blease was reared in the home of his paternal grandmother, the late Laurie Montgomery Weldon.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 4898 Silo Road, Sumter.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 705 W. Huggins St., Manning, with Assistant Pastor Ethel Lemon officiating, eulogist.
