Bodybuilding tournament comes to Weldon Auditorium in Manning

MANNING - Dozens of the Southeast's award-winning bodybuilders will be gracing the stage at Weldon Auditorium beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 7.

"This is a premier bodybuilding, fitness, bikini, figure and physique show," said Kevin DeHaven, bodybuilding, promoter and owner of KD-Promotions. "The event is sanctioned by the leading organization in the world, the NPC (National Physique Committee). The event will feature some of the best bodies in the Southeast. You'll be able to see their grace on the stage as well as their hard work and dedication."

The competition includes multiple classes, including men's open, junior, true novice, teenage and masters in several age classes. Women will also be competing in a variety of classes, including open, true novice and masters in multiple age classes.

There is still time to register to compete in the Sept. 7 event that is a qualifier for the national competition. For more information on the event and how to register, log onto kd-promotions.com.

DeHaven said that this would be a great time for individuals interested in becoming a bodybuilder to meet some of the people who are influential in the field of bodybuilding and to meet award-winning male and female bodybuilders.

"It's going to be a great competition," DeHaven added. "We're looking forward to a very competitive group of bodybuilders gracing the stage this year.

Prejudging show time will be 9 a.m. Sept. 7, and the finals will be held at 5 p.m. later that day. Tickets, cash only, will be available at the door.
