BRIAN O'NEAL

EFFINGHAM - Brian O'Neal, 53, husband of Lisa Leonard O'Neal, died Thursday, July 4, 2019, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

Born Jan. 10, 1966, in Sumter, he was a son of Sharon Hopkins O'Neal Nesbitt and the late Alfred O'Neal. He was employed by the Assurant Group in Florence for seven years. He grew up in Harmony Church.

Survivors include his wife of Effingham; his mother of Sumter; two brothers, James Nesbitt (Vicki) of Effingham and Ben Bellamy of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Lisa Mitchum Bellamy of Sumter; two nephews, Dalton Bellamy and Jacob Nesbitt; a niece, Dori Bellamy; and his godchildren, Brittany Sehnke, Jade Sehnke and Lauren Sehnke.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, James P. Nesbitt Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Harmony Church with Pastor Drew Choate and Chaplain Chris Church officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Browder, Aaron Ash, Billy Joe Hopkins, Dalton Bellamy, Tim Huggins and Jade Sehnke.

The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his mother.
