Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roy of Wedgefield and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Brown Jr. of Oswego announce the engagement of their daughter, Virginia Brown of Whitney Point, New York, to Todd Mills of Whitney Point, New York, son of the late Edward Mills, Shari Mills and Michael Short.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ms. Edna Capps of Walhalla, the late Marvin Braswell of Walhalla, the late Melvin Brown Sr. of Oswego and the late Claudia Jordan of Sumter. She graduated from Roy Hudgens Academy. She is employed by Horizons, a Division of Empower.

The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of the late Steven and Gladys Mills of Campville, New York, and the late Steven and Doris Vanderpool of Owego, New York. He graduated from Union Endicott High School in Endicott, New York. He is retired.

The wedding is planned for June 4, 2022, in Binghamton, New York.
