Bruce Allen Pauly, 69, husband of Li-Fen Pauly, died on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach.

Born on Jan. 9, 1949, in Olean, New York, he was a son of the late Ralph John and Carmelita Pike Pauly. Mr. Pauly retired from the U.S. Air Force after 24 years of service and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He also retired as a civil service employee at Shaw Air Force Base after 15 additional years of service. Mr. Pauly was a member of American Legion Post 15 in Sumter. He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years; one son, James Pauly (Angie) of Sumter; four daughters, Robin Pauly of Sumter, Evon Laferriere of Columbia, and Amy Baker (Wellington) and Ashley Galloway (Rusty), both of Sumter; four grandchildren, KayDee, Logan, Layla and Reese; three brothers, R.J. Pauly, Jeff Pauly and Scott Pauly, all of New York; and three sisters, Pamela Marsfelder and Debra Rouse, both of New York, and Dawn Powell of Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Robin Marie Pauly.

Funeral rites will be at 11 a.m. on Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
