"I am still deciding, but I would like to do something in the criminal justice field," said Missildine, who plays on the USC Aiken Men's Basketball Team.

"My goal is to either work for the FBI or join the Air Force to become a pilot or work for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations."

While his basketball schedule keeps him pretty busy, Missildine is active all over campus. Currently, he serves as a resident mentor in the USC Aiken housing complex.

"In this job, I look over 24 students and maintain a positive and communal living environment."

He also serves in the community by volunteering at a local school where he mentors at-risk students.

His hard work in the classroom and on the basketball court have paid off as Missildine has received numerous accolades. He's been named to the Dean's and President's lists several times for his academic standing. In addition, Missildine earned Gold and Silver awards by the Peach Belt Conference for his academic achievements.

Off campus, the basketball player enjoys sports and watching shows and movies that depict historical events during war times.

USC Aiken conducted its inaugural recognition of those students, including Sherilyn Edwards from Sumter, who completed the Palmetto College Program. GREENWOOD - Some 200 college students from across the state including Tara Muldrow of Sumter participated in the South Carolina Bankers Association's "Banking Careers 101" program held Feb. 12 in Columbia. Eight business students from Lander University attended the educational program, which is designed to help those who are interested in banking, finance and accounting learn more about the banking industry.

"A networking lunch gave students the chance to interact with professional bankers," said David Bell, lecturer of business at Lander University. "These connections may prove to be invaluable when our students begin their careers in banking."

In addition to networking with financial professionals, students gained insight into the banking industry during sessions that focused on areas such as lending, deposit operations, branch management, asset/liability management, investments and information technology.
