EMORY & HENRY COLLEGE

EMORY, Virginia - Zeke Workman of Dalzell has been named to the Emory & Henry College Spring 2021 Dean's list. To be named to the Dean's list, students must be a full-time student and receive a 3.6 GPA for the semester.

The Emory & Henry College Tennis Teams have seen six women and three men named Scholar-Athletes by Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

ITA Scholar-Athletes must be a varsity letterwinner and carry at least a 3.50 grade-point average (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year. Additionally, each student-athlete must be enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters. To be an ITA All-Academic Team, the cumulative team grade-point average must exceed 3.20 for the current academic year.

Among the award winners was Zeke Workman.

The ITA is the governing body of college tennis and oversees men's and women's varsity tennis at NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community College divisions. The ITA administers a comprehensive awards and rankings program for men's and women's varsity players, coaches and teams in all divisions, providing recognition for their accomplishments on and off the court.

CHICOPEE, Massachusetts - College of Our Lady of the Elms celebrated its 90th Commencement exercises on Saturday, May 15.

Sekenyia Williams of Sumter received a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Language Pathology Assistant.

THE CITADEL

CHARLESTON - More than 560 members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets accepted diplomas during The Citadel's commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 8, in McAlister Field House. In addition to graduating, about 27% of the class accepted commissions as U.S. military officers in all branches of service.

Local graduates are:

Christopher Jordan of Manning, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration;

Michelle Banzon of Sumter, Criminal Justice Bachelor of Arts;

Kiel Bilton of Sumter, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration;

William Rowe of Sumter, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration;

Greyson Young of Sumter, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; and

Kody McCutchen of Bishopville, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri - Missouri State University awarded 2,954 degrees to students in spring 2021. The commencement ceremonies took place May 13-14 at JQH Arena.

Krystal Borgschulte of Sumter graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
