The College of Charleston

CHARLESTON - The College of Charleston recently awarded undergraduate and graduate degrees during the winter 2021 commencement ceremony. The following local students earned degrees:

- Emily Irvin of Sumter graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality/Tourism Management.

- Hunter Arrants of Rembert graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.

Coastal Carolina University

CONWAY - Nearly 2,500 undergraduate students at Coastal Carolina University were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2021 semester. Students who make the Dean's List have achieved a grade-point average between 3.5-3.99 for the semester. Local students recognized are:

- Manning - Jefferson Bennett; Zaviyonna Benthall-Lewis; Dana Carraway; Alexandria Mays; Shakeel Robinson;

- Sumter - Bailey Bryan; Carol Burke; Donte Coleman; Tyrone Davis; Candace Dozier; Logan Kennedy; Matthew Martin;

- Dalzell - Jarod Bowers; Myance Green;

- Bishopville - Alexandra Dollar;

- Lynchburg - Nina Edlow; and

- Summerton - Ronyaih Frierson.

Nearly 1,000 students earned a spot on the President's List for the fall 2021 semester at Coastal Carolina University. Local students recognized are:

- Shaw AFB - Hanna Deckert;

- Dalzell - Morgan-Mckay Hoppmann;

- Sumter - Aleya Johnson; Brianna Stewart; Kanetra Taylor; Jeremiah White;

- Summerton - Erin Malone;

- Rembert - Gabrielle Richbow.
