Funeral services for Carolyn Rhodes Ford will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 325 W. Fulton St., Sumter, with the Rev. Dr. James B. Blassingame officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park, Sumter.

Carolyn Rhodes Ford, 58, transitioned on Monday, March 11, 2019, at Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.

Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Frank Washington and Celeste Azalee Rhodes and the wife of Herbert Ford of Sumter. Carolyn was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Sumter High School. Carolyn was raised in a loving and Christian home, where she learned at an early age to put God first. She was baptized at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she attended regularly before residing in Georgia. She was employed for many years in the university healthcare system. Carolyn's memories will live forever in the hearts and minds of all her family and friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Washington and Celeste Azalee Rhodes; and brother, Nathaniel Rhodes.

Survivors are her husband, Herbert Calvin Ford; six children, Felicia Rhodes of Augusta, Travesia (Earl) Wallace of Tampa, Florida, Moscoe (Shantel) Rhodes of Augusta, Calvin Ford of Columbia, Randy Condary of Texas and Sir Richard Ford of Bronx, New York; seven grandchildren, Tejuanna, Rha'Quan, Mya, Akeem, Jordain, Mekayla and Tionna; sisters, Elaine Rhodes and Melinda (Johnny) Johnson; mother-in-law, Dorothy Ford of Bronx; and a host of other relatives.

Palmer Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
