CARRIE LEE WINDHAM ROGERS

Carrie Lee Windham Rogers was born on Jan. 11, 1928, in Sumter County, a daughter of the late Deacon Charlie Windham Sr. and Carrie Durant Windham. She passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at age 91.

Mrs. Rogers, also known as Delphine, attended the local schools of Sumter County. She accepted Christ at an early age at Joshua Baptist Church, where she served faithfully until a brief illness and her death.

She is survived by her children, James Windham of Sumter, Willie and Hazel M. Rogers of Bishopville, Clarence and Carolyn Linton Rogers of Sumter, William and Carrie Rogers Loney of Sumter, Warren and Emma Rogers Gainey of Sumter and Matthew and Teresa Smith Rogers of Hopkins; one sister, Eva Windham Johnson and her husband, James, of Sumter; one brother, Charlie Windham of Sumter; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home Inc. of Camden.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Joshua Baptist Church, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell.

Mrs. Rogers will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
