Funeral services for Carrie Mae Prioleau will be held at noon on Saturday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 130 Loring Mill Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Gwendolyn White, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.

A public viewing will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the mortuary and a wake service from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Carrie M. Prioleau was born on April 13, 1933, to the late Sanders and Delia Bracey Singleton. She was the first of their 15 children. She was born in Sumter County and was married to the late Abraham Prioleau II.

Carrie M. Prioleau was preceded in death by seven of her siblings, Earl Singleton, Wade Singleton, Maceo Singleton, John Singleton, Thomas Singleton, Benjamin (affectionately called "Brother") Singleton, and one sister, Hattie "Cathy" Jackson.

Carrie M. Prioleau transitioned from this life to begin her eternal journey to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019.

She leaves to celebrate and cherish her loving memories: two daughters, Marilyn Prioleau Campbell and Carolyn Prioleau Elleby; two sons, Abraham Prioleau III (Diana) and Herman Sanders Prioleau (Leila); six grandchildren, Marlo Lavonne Prioleau, Brandon David Wheeler, Hermanda Shirin Prioleau, Syndney Lauren Prioleau, Timothy Elleby ll and Abram Prioleau Elleby; four great-grandchildren, Cameron Joseph Wheeler, Lauren Lindsay Prioleau, Carter Blake Grizzle and Aiden Jonnie Davall; four brothers, William "Bill" (Willie Mae) Singleton, Gaynard Singleton, James Albert Singleton and Lewis Singleton; three sisters, Rhetta Sanders, Sarah Griggs and Darcus "Dottie" Stewart; sister-in-law, Kyong Lee Singleton; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 1411 Frank St., Sumter.
