CASSANDRA JEAN HUNTER

Cassandra Jean Hunter, 46, was born on Dec. 21, 1973, a daughter of Emma Patterson and Sterling Taylor. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020.

She was educated in the public schools of Essex County, New Jersey, and graduated from East Orange High School Class of 1992. After graduation, she attended Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute, East Orange, New Jersey, earning her degree in culinary in 1998. She then moved to Arlington Avenue, New Jersey, where she lived for five years. After missing her mother, Jean relocated to Sumter and there she lived out the remainder of her life.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her siblings, Wendell Hunter, Tallaucha Hunter, Starline Johnson, Lloyd Hunter, Sheila Taylor, Sharon Taylor, Shannon Taylor, Denise Ford, Candy Taylor and Angie Brown; five children, Markice Hunter, Mardave Hunter, Marquita Hunter, Thomas Durant and Markeisha Hunter; four grandchildren, Adnovia Hunter, Kyle Addison, Malachi Allen and Emma Hunter; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family received relatives and friends at the home, 467 Loring Drive, Sumter.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020, in John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter. The Rev. Joseph Ricks officiated.

Services were entrusted to the management and staff of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, SC 29150.
