CCTC to hold health sciences career fair, welding course for women

Central Carolina Technical College will hold its Seventh-Annual Health Sciences Career Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, in the Health Sciences Center, 133 S. Main St.

This free event offers Nursing, Medical Assisting, Surgical Technology, Medical Record Coding, Massage Therapy and Pharmacy Technology students, graduates and faculty a chance to meet representatives from hospitals and health care facilities to discuss career and employment opportunities.

Women and welding course offered

Are you a female who has always wanted to learn about welding? CCTC will hold its three-day course, Women and Welding, from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, Feb. 26-28, in Building 400, Room M440. Cost is $75 for CCTC employees and students, $150 for public.

CCTC Welding Department Chairman Axel Reis will introduce welding and fabrication and teach participants how to safely use a welding machine. Each participant will take home a finished project. Participants must wear denim jeans made of cotton only, long-sleeved cotton shirts, closed-toed boots, no jewelry and hair pulled back.
