CECIL ELSTON BROWDER SR.

Cecil Elston Browder Sr., age 81, beloved husband of 58 years to Marie Hendrix Browder, died on Friday, June 26, 2020, at his residence.

Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late James Wade Browder and Odessa Coker Browder. Cecil was a strong man of faith and was a longtime member of Green Acres Assembly of God. He loved his career and the experiences he had as a long distance truck driver. He logged almost four million miles trucking across this country. Cecil loved to hunt and fish and was an avid Gamecock fan, but his true joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Cecil is survived by his wife, Marie; one son, Cecil E. Browder Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Sumter; two daughters, Kimberly B. Jackson and her husband, Eddie, and Paige B. Geddings and her husband, Chris, all of Sumter; one sister, Joanne Carrol of Sumter; five grandchildren, Courtney, Kimberly, Lauren, Tyler and Mason; and six great-grandchildren, Nathan, Addison, Brenleigh, Aiden, Walker and Kinsley.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Ed Browder; and three sisters, Ethel Browder, Nell Yates and Dorothy Chaffins.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today in the Bullock Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Michael Bowman and the Rev. H. Albert Sims officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

Pallbeares will be Danny Burkett, Ozzie Davis, J.B. Hodge, Jackie Leviner, Robbie Leviner, Grayson Moore, Bubba Preast and Tony Preast.

Honorary pallbearer will be Nathan Bramlett.
