Charles Tiller, 64, was born on Feb. 7, 1954, in Sumter, a son of Lillie Mae Tiller and the late Dudley Tiller. He departed this life on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at his residence, surrounded by loved ones.

Charles was a member of Pine Hill AME Church. He was educated in Sumter at St. Jude Catholic Church. After graduating, he later earned a degree from North Central Kansas Technical College. Charles loved playing tennis, golf and spending time with his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Lille Mae Tiller of Sumter; two daughters, Kenyatta Williams of Dalzell and Kwanza (William) Hall of Raleigh, North Carolina; three grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Tiller and Dorothy Jones, both of Sumter; two brothers, Dudley (Betty) Tiller and Edward Tiller, both of Sumter; a special friend, Glenda Covington of Manning; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and dear friends.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Tiller will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. on Friday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Pine Hill AME Church, 1505 U.S. 521, Sumter, SC 29153 with the Rev. Donna H. Jackson, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the home, 105 Tiller Circle, Sumter, SC 29150.
