MANNING - The author of a poetic tale between a grandfather clock, representing adults, and a cellphone, representing the younger generation, will be at the Harvin Clarendon County Library, 215 N. Brooks St., from 10 a.m. until noon Satuday.

David Gibson, a South Carolina native, will visit the library to share his book, Switching Shoes, a story that showcases respect, love and the cherished moments of the here and now with a focus on not trying to "grow up so fast."

The book's grandfather clock "gives a countless insight and wisdom to the cellphone by switching shoes and gets the cellphone to see life from a different point of view."

"Mr. Gibson will be at the library meeting families and signing books," said Charlotte Johnson, director of the Harvin Clarendon County Library. "He will be at the library meeting families and signing books. The program is free to attend, and copies of his book will be available for purchase at the program."
